Data source
Smogon publishes monthly usage statistics at smogon.com/stats. Each file captures one month of battles on the Pokemon Showdown ladder at a specific Elo rating threshold.
Statro ingests two file formats per ladder: chaos JSON (per-Pokemon statistics including moves, items, teammates, and EV spreads) and moveset text files. Data is processed and stored per Pokemon, per format.
Rating cutoffs
Smogon publishes data at multiple rating thresholds: 0, 1500, 1695 or 1760, and 1825 (for high-traffic formats). Statro uses the highest available cutoff to show the most competitive subset of the ladder.
